Join us for the Christmas Carriage Parade
Mark your calendars! The holiday cheer will continue on Saturday, Dec. 13 with the Christmas Carriage Parade presented by the Town of Parker and the Colorado Driving Society. The parade is a treasured Parker tradition that brings festive weather and family fun to all who attend. The day begins at. at the “Christmas in the Country” Craft Fair located at the Mainstreet Center, 19650 E. Mainstreet. Parking at the Mainstreet Center will be limited as the parade will travel through the parking lot this year. Please plan accordingly. Be sure to make it over to O’Brien Park for fun activities including the Winter Farmer’s Market, also starting at 10 a.m. Victorian Peaks has made it possible for the Town to offer pony rides and a petting zoo for your family’s enjoyment, starting at Noon in the park.
Also beginning at Noon, Santa will arrive and be available for pictures in the Ruth Memorial Chapel, located next to the Mainstreet Center. Many thanks to the Children’s Hospital for helping Santa find his way to Parker for the parade.
This year’s “Under the Christmas Tree” themed parade will include dozens of horse-drawn carriages, wagons and stagecoaches from across Colorado all dressed for the occasion! An exciting parade narration with the help of Channel 9’s Cheryl Preheim is sure to make an enjoyable parade experience for all. Those who miss getting their picture with Santa before the parade will be pleased to know that Santa plans to stay for an hour after the parade.
The parade will start at . and head west on Mainstreet, up Victorian, around Parker Station, back down Victorian, east on Mainstreet, south on Pikes Peak Drive, east on Pikes Peak Court through the Mainstreet Center parking lot and back on Mainstreet heading east. Road closures include E. Mainstreet, Pine Drive, Victorian Circle, Pikes Peak Drive and Pikes Peak Court. Visit www.parkeronline.org for a route map.
Be a Parade Volunteer!
The Town is looking for about 12 additional volunteers to assist throughout the day with crowd control, answering basic questions, handing out brochures and to perform other general duties. This is a perfect opportunity for a civic group or service organization to work together and make a difference in keeping this Town tradition a huge success.
